Panjab University student president's pledge for campus friendliness

Panjab University student president vows to enhance campus student-friendliness

Fresh from his victory in the Panjab University Campus Students Council (PUCSC) election, Jatinder Singh, now the PUCSC president representing the National Students Union of India (NSUI), delivered his first public address. He spoke about his commitment to working in the spirit of "Mohabbat ki Dukaan" (Shop of Love), a concept championed by Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Embracing Gandhi's message of love

Addressing the audience at the Coffee House in the Student Centre, Jatinder Singh expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak publicly following his election victory. He noted that his address coincided with the one-year anniversary of the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" (India Unite Journey) led by Rahul Gandhi. Singh emphasized his intention to implement Gandhi's message of "Muhabbat ki Dukaan" and foster a positive and harmonious environment for the students on campus.

As a gesture of appreciation for the trust placed in him by the campus community, Singh announced plans for a mini Bharat Jodo Yatra rally. This rally aims to thank the campus community for their support and reaffirm the commitment to Gandhi's ideals.

Addressing concerns about AAP leadership in Punjab

When questioned about potential challenges arising from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leading the state of Punjab and its implications for the NSUI-led student council, Jatinder Singh emphasized the state's responsibility for Panjab University. He highlighted that it is the government's duty to provide the necessary funding for the university's operations.

In response to potential funding issues, Singh indicated that they would seek assistance from senior Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He mentioned that when Rahul Gandhi previously visited the university, he made a donation to support its functioning. Singh emphasized that, if needed, they would convey the challenges faced by PU students to these leaders to secure necessary funds.

He has a positive outlook on addressing potential funding issues and is willing to collaborate with senior Congress leaders to ensure Panjab University's continued success. Additionally, Singh emphasizes the importance of unity among PUCSC members, regardless of their political affiliations, for the betterment of the university.
